As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering social inclusion and raising awareness around autism, Manfoods–McDonald’s Egypt announced its platinum sponsorship of “The Power of Siblings” campaign, organized by the Egyptian Autistic Society, in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.
This step underscores the company’s continued dedication to supporting children with autism and their families, while contributing to the development of a more aware, inclusive, and accepting society.
The campaign features a series of awareness-driven and community-focused activities, alongside symbolic initiatives such as illuminating several McDonald’s Egypt stores in blue and promoting the inclusion of individuals with autism within its restaurants.
These efforts aim to highlight the importance of supporting individuals with autism and strengthening public understanding of the condition.
The sponsorship builds on a longstanding partnership between Manfoods–McDonald’s Egypt and the Egyptian Autistic Society, spanning more than a decade.
Throughout this collaboration, the company has implemented specialized training programs across its stores, successfully delivering 6 training cycles and equipping over 200 individuals with autism with practical, job-ready skills.
These initiatives have facilitated their integration into the workforce, providing tangible employment opportunities and fostering both economic and social empowerment.
Empowering Families and Strengthening Inclusion
Commenting on the partnership, Alaa Fathy, General Manager of Manfoods–McDonald’s Egypt, said: “Our participation in ‘The Power of Siblings’ campaign reflects our strong belief in the vital role of families, particularly siblings, in supporting children with autism.

He added: “Through this campaign, we aim to translate awareness into action. From lighting our stores in blue as a symbol of solidarity, to advancing inclusive practices within our operations, we are committed to creating a more supportive environment.
We believe that true inclusion is achieved through collective efforts between families, communities, and institutions, and we remain dedicated to initiatives that create lasting, positive change in the lives of children and their families.”
Dahlia Soliman, President and Founder of the Egyptian Autistic Society, commented: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Manfoods–McDonald’s Egypt, which stands as a strong example of effective collaboration between civil society and the private sector in supporting autism-related causes.

Building on a Legacy of Impactful Initiatives
This collaboration builds on previous successful initiatives between the two entities, including last year’s campaign, “Everybody Needs a Buddy,” which emphasized the importance of daily support systems and human connection in the lives of individuals with autism.
Together, both partners continue to deliver impactful programs that support children and their families while promoting sustainable social integration.
Beyond autism-focused initiatives, Manfoods–McDonald’s Egypt continues to invest in broader community development efforts.
In 2020, the company partnered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity to develop community nurseries, investing EGP 15 million to upgrade 165 classrooms, benefiting approximately 2,400 families in Cairo, and training 365 caregivers to enhance early childhood education services.
The company has also contributed to the development of underserved areas, including its 2009 initiative in Ezbet Khairallah, where EGP 13 million in fundraising supported the establishment of 27 nurseries serving over 5,000 children and 10 schools accommodating more than 26,000 students.
In parallel, awareness programs were implemented, training approximately 9,000 mothers on effective parenting practices.
