
DP World Egypt welcomed an official delegation of 7 ambassadors from Latin American countries during their visit to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
Their visit aimed to explore Egypt’s experience in developing modern logistics infrastructure, while discussing opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, expand joint investments, and identify promising prospects across the maritime transport, logistics, and related industrial sectors.
The delegation included Ambassador Wilmer Omar Barrientos Fernández, Republic of Venezuela, Ambassador Héctor Ortega, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of Mexico, Ambassador Aist Roman Maldonado, Dominican Republic, Ambassador Ricardo Icaza, Republic of Panama, Ambassador Alexander Becerra Moraga, Republic of Cuba, Mr. Palacios Rangel Martin Eduardo, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Peru, and Ambassador Jorge de la Roche, Republic of Guatemala.

DP World Egypt’s Leadership Welcomes the Delegation
DP World was represented by Mr. Mohamed Tarek, Director of Security, Government and Public Affairs, Egypt, and Mr. Loay Abdel Latif, Chief Operating Officer, Logistics, Egypt.
During their tour, the delegation was briefed on DP World Egypt’s integrated service offering, with a particular focus on the state of the art facilities at Sokhna Logistics Park and Sokhna Port.
At the logistics park, the ambassadors explored the advanced ecosystem comprising bonded and non bonded warehouses, empty container yards, value added services, and comprehensive door to door cargo solutions.

Together, these components form a modern, interconnected logistics hub designed to enhance trade flows through Sokhna Port.
Recently inaugurated and equipped with the latest digital technologies and innovative operating systems, the park has become a highlight of the region’s growing international interest in its accelerated development.
The ambassadors also received an in-depth presentation on the facility’s role in supporting export oriented industries and driving economic transformation within the SCZone.
Visit to DP World Sokhna Port
The park serves as an integrated logistics center, offering innovative services, global connectivity, and tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of investors across the industrial and commercial sectors.
The visit continued at DP World Sokhna Port, where the delegation explored the port’s berths and operational capabilities.
As one of the largest and fastest growing ports on the Red Sea, DP World Sokhna serves as a key gateway for trade between Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Highlighting Egypt’s Growing Logistics Capabilities
The port features modern berths capable of accommodating the world’s largest vessels, advanced container handling terminals, and digital systems, including automated tracking and real time operational management, that ensure faster cargo turnaround and greater supply chain efficiency.
The ambassadors’ visit reflects the growing interest among Latin American nations in expanding trade relations with Egypt.
