Turkish Airlines Soars Over the Pyramids as Platinum Sponsor of Global Marathon

Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other, is delighted to join the 2025 Marakez Pyramids Marathon as a Platinum Sponsor for this year’s highly anticipated race taking place on December 13 beneath the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza.

Commitment to Global Sporting Events

As one of the event’s key partners, Turkish Airlines reinforces its commitment to supporting major international sporting events that bring communities together.

This year’s marathon attracted thousands of runners from around the world, along with distinguished guests, such as Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth & Sports; HE Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France; and representatives from various embassies, ministries, and international sports organizations.

A Growing International Marathon in Egypt

Since its debut in 2019, the Marakez Pyramids Marathon has grown into one of Egypt’s leading global running events, and the first officially structured race to be held entirely around the Great Giza Pyramids.

Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Egyptian Athletics Federation, World Athletics, and AIMS, the event features 5K, 10K, and 21K distances, offering an inclusive sporting experience for runners of all ages and abilities.

Turkish Airlines on the Power of Sports

Turkish Airlines SVP Sales (Region II) Mahmut Yayla stated: “At Turkish Airlines, we believe in the unifying power of sports.

We are happy to support the Marakez Pyramids Marathon, bringing together athletes from across the globe in one of the world’s most extraordinary places.

This partnership reflects our commitment to connecting people not just through flights, but also shared experiences that celebrate cultural heritage, human achievement and the spirit of sports and competition.”

Global Sports Partnerships

Turkish Airlines’ participation in the marathon complements its wider global portfolio of sports partnerships, which includes international running festivals, endurance events, and world class athletic competitions.

Through these initiatives, the airline continues to champion the values of wellbeing, exploration, and cross cultural connection values that mirror its mission of linking people and destinations across its ever expanding network.
