Oman’s Afouq Developments and Egypt’s Prime Group Launch the First “Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Technologies Zone”

Oman’s Afouq Developments and Egypt’s Prime Group have announced the launch of the “Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Technologies Zone” in partnership with the Omani Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT).

The announcement took place on the sidelines of the COMEX International Exhibition in the Sultanate of Oman.

This landmark project represents one of the most significant strategic initiatives aimed at positioning Oman as a regional and global leader in technology and innovation, while strengthening the country’s status as a hub for tech start ups and future oriented investment.

Vision and Commitment from Afouq Developments

Dr. Siham Al Harthi, Chairperson of Afouq Developments, stated:

“Our shared vision with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, under the leadership of H.E.

Said Al Maawali and his inspiring team, is to deliver a project that incorporates the most advanced global technologies, embraces future ready solutions, and stands as an architectural icon inspired by leading global technology hubs, while reflecting Omani architectural heritage and spirit.”

She emphasized that this Zone is designed to meet the needs of local and international tech start ups and position Oman at the forefront of nations that adopt and host such companies in an attractive and enabling environment.

Prime Group’s Role and Global Expertise

Counselor Mahmoud Farrag, CEO of Prime Group, added:

“Following the signing of the agreement, we immediately set to work on forging global partnerships to develop this pioneering Zone.

Developing a dedicated area for advanced technologies and artificial intelligence requires collaboration with leading companies that have proven global expertise a process we have already begun.”

He further highlighted that Prime Group brings extensive experience in developing and managing major projects across several countries, including Vietnam, the UAE, and others across Asia and Africa.

This expertise, supported by a wide international network of major corporations, research centers, and business accelerators, will directly contribute to making this project a true global platform for attracting technology companies and future investments.

Commitment to Oman Vision 2040

The Afouq Prime alliance affirmed its commitment to working diligently to deliver a project that will be a global benchmark, realizing the ambitious goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Dr. Al Harthi concluded:
