
In a milestone celebration of its centennial presence in Egypt, ABB hosted Swedish Ambassador Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt at its manufacturing facilities in 10th of Ramadan City.
The visit highlighted ABB’s pivotal role in supporting local industry, advancing sustainability, and reinforcing the longstanding Swedish-Egyptian partnership.

During the tour, Ambassador Dannfelt inspected production lines and met with the ABB team, witnessing firsthand the high standards of professionalism and dedication embedded in the company’s operations. With local components comprising 79% of factory outputs, ABB’s commitment to bolstering Egypt’s manufacturing

sector and empowering skilled Egyptian workers was strongly evident.
The ambassador underscored the deep industrial collaboration between Sweden and Egypt, noting significant parallels in factory operations and Swedish quality standards. He commended ABB’s seamless integration of Swedish industrial values within the Egyptian manufacturing environment.
Ahmed Hammad, Chairman of ABB Egypt, welcomed the ambassador and reflected on ABB’s century-long journey in Egypt, stating, “ABB’s 100 years in Egypt represent a legacy of growth, trust, and partnership. We have built this legacy on local talent, international standards, and shared values, and we continue to invest in Egypt’s future with the same energy and purpose that brought us here a century ago.

” He added, “The ambassador’s visit reaffirms the strength of bilateral ties and highlights the value of enduring cooperation between Egypt and Sweden. At ABB, we embrace this moment as a renewed commitment to our role as a strategic partner in Egypt’s development.”
Sherif Ismail, ABB Egypt’s Vice President and Commercial Director for Egypt and Central Africa, emphasized the factories’ operational excellence, saying, “This visit reflects the confidence our global partners place in our work.
Our factories are the product of years of dedication by a talented Egyptian team and adherence to ABB’s global quality standards. We are proud that our operations deliver tangible value to Egypt’s infrastructure and energy sectors, showcasing how local industry supported by global expertise can achieve sustainable impact.”

Eng. Abdallah Kassem, Factory Manager, guided the ambassador through the site, explaining ABB’s strategic role in Egypt’s industrial landscape. He noted, “We are honored by the ambassador’s visit, marking 100 years of ABB’s presence in Egypt.
Our factories in 10th of Ramadan City have successfully enhanced local manufacturing, achieving the Egyptian Local Component Certificate with a 79% local content ratio in our electrical distribution products.”
Aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, ABB’s factories operate on an advanced centralized production system, exemplifying responsible and sustainable industrial practices.
