Telecom Egypt Becomes the First Operator in Egypt and North Africa to Deploy Huawei’s Cutting-Edge Indoor and Outdoor Technologies
Huawei, a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, has announced a strategic partnership with Telecom Egypt – WE to enhance its network with advanced technological solutions in preparation for the rollout of 5G services in Egypt.
This collaboration positions Telecom Egypt as the first operator in Egypt and North Africa to deploy Huawei’s innovative outdoor and indoor solutions, including BladeAAU technology with high-bandwidth Massive MIMO, as well as the DIS 5G solution featuring the new pRRU Pico Radio, which supports multiple frequency bands for indoor coverage.
As part of this collaboration, Huawei is integrating BladeAAU technology into Telecom Egypt’s network, optimizing space for antenna installations on towers while laying the groundwork for future 5G expansion.
Additionally, Telecom Egypt is pioneering the region’s first 5G Digital Indoor System (DIS), leveraging three frequency bands and V-MIMO (Virtual Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology. Initial 5G testing has delivered exceptional speeds exceeding 300 Mbps, ensuring a superior user experience.
Expanding 5G Coverage with Unmatched Capacity
Telecom Egypt is committed to optimizing outdoor and indoor coverage, particularly for high-value users. To meet the growing demand for high-capacity networks, BaldeAAU MM 64T technology has been deployed, providing a significantly higher 5G traffic capacity.
Meanwhile, Digital Indoor Systems (DIS) are now the preferred solution over traditional Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) due to their enhanced capacity and improved user experience.
